About Me

Suzanne M. Zetz, MA, MFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in individual, child, teen, young adults, couples and family therapy. She maintains a private practice in Tustin, California.

Hello and welcome to my website.  I hope you find the information here helpful to you in some way. I invite you to call me anytime with questions you may have.

I have over 15 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, specializing in Family Systems, Psychoanalytic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Emotion Focused, EMDR and Solution Focused Therapies.    I currently serve as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.

Prior to being in private practice, I worked for a non-profit organization in both the private and public school settings offering children, teens and their parents crisis management and general counseling services.  I have given numerous presentations to schools on the topics of parenting, child and teen depression, suicide, cutting, drug/alcohol and eating disorders as well as tips and suggestions for academic success.

My therapeutic approach is to provide compassion, support and practical feedback to help my clients effectively address personal life challenges.  I work with individuals on issues such as  grief and loss, relationships (with self and others), anger, stress, worry and sadness.   I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients.  I also help individuals who are seeking support while navigating through a time of personal or professional change.  I help clients identify problem areas, build on strengths, establish core values, examine long held beliefs, and process painful experiences so that hope can be restored and a better, more fulfilling life can emerge.

I also work with couples who are struggling in their relationship. I help clients transform their relationships by bringing back intimacy, increase effective communication and conflict resolution, and build a spiritual (values centered) partnership.   I have been trained in the Gottman Method but use a variety of approaches customized to each couple's needs.

Sometimes it's important to work with entire families, bringing everyone together to work on issues that are not just affecting the individual, but the family as a whole.

I have additional training and expertise in several Psychotherapy modalities including  DBT (Dialectical behavior Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy)
